Ridala church was originally built in 1265-70 near the former ancient city. Around 1500, a bell tower slightly lower than the church ridge was added to the church. In 1780, massive support pillars were added to the church. The church is richly furnished, with wall paintings from the end of the 13th century in the choir section.
